Hi I’m Victoria, a northern lass from Manchester, now living in New York. I have a Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism (2:1) from the University of Leeds, which has proved incredibly useful because it equipped me with the skills I need to film and edit video.

When I graduated in 2008, I wasn’t 100% sure of the direction I wanted to take, so I decided to pack my bags and travel solo around Australia in search of fun and adventure. That turned out to be the best decision I ever made because I managed to turn my passion into a career as a full time travel blogger. Since then I’ve travelled over 45 countries across the world, documenting my travels along the way.

I set up Pommie Travels in 2009 to offer useful, practical information for independent travellers and today the site is packed with over 800 posts and 40 pages! Vuelio listed my blog as one of the Top 10 UK Travel Blogs and Gap Year Escape also listed me as one of the Top 30 UK Travel Bloggers.

My travel style is what I’d call ‘value chic’ in the sense that I like nice things, such as good food and stylish accommodation, but I also love a good deal. Who doesn’t? Like many travellers, my tastes are ever-evolving as a result of a number of factors; age, income and work have all certainly played a part.

I’m simply a girl who loves to travel and my aim with this blog has always been to offer quick and easy information that you can’t necessarily find in the guidebooks. Information for people who like a bit of everything on their trip – sightseeing, beaching, eating and some nightlife thrown in. Most importantly I just hope my readers to have fun, because that’s what life should be about.

Flying is a major passion of mine. I often post videos of the Business Class flights I take on my YouTube channel and I write reviews of my airline experiences on this blog. Over the years I’ve worked with many airlines, including Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, SWISS Air, KLM and Air France.

I’m proud to be a member of the Air France Wings Club, which recognizes bloggers who have partnered with Air France. For years I have worked as a freelance writer writing aviation news and reviews at SkyClub.com, so I’ve turned into a massive #avgeek!

One of my other main passions is festivals. I’ve been to Oktoberfest in Germany, Dimensions Festival in Croatia, Falls Festival in Melbourne and SXSW in Austin, Texas. If there’s a festival you think I should know about, let me know! My readers come from all walks of life but they all have one thing in common – they’re itching to travel the world!

The majority are within the 25-35 age bracket and are from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Canada. 60% of my readers are female, while 40% are male.
