Need to find a hotel near KLIA airport? At the end of the #DiscoverMalaysia blog trip I stayed at the Sama Sama Hotel, before catching my flight to Kuala Terengganu. While this is most convenient for passengers traveling from KLIA airport, my flight actually departed from the Air Asia LCCT Terminal, but there is a quick and convenient bus for 2.50 Ringgit that takes you between the two airports.
Here’s my Sama Sama hotel review…
The Lobby
The hotel is HUGE and has quite a grandiose lobby as you can see. The hotel is conveniently connected to the airport by a walkway, which is all undercover. When you’re at reception facing the exit you just turn left and you can follow the walkway to the airport. There was also complimentary buggy service, which I used so that I didn’t have to walk with my heavy bags!
The Room
I stayed in one of their Deluxe Rooms which is very modern with a very comfy bed and a sofa in the corner. It also has a 32″ LCD TV, telephone with data/fax port and voicemail, in-room safe, coffee & tea making facilities, a mini bar, an iron and ironing board, and Wi-Fi Internet access.
The Bathroom
I was a little disappointed that the room didn’t have a bath tub, just a walk-in shower, but apart from that it was very clean and satisfactory. Extras included shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, toothbrush, nail file and shower cap.
The Breakfast
There is no buffet breakfast at the Sama Sama hotel (unless you are staying on the Premier floor), but you can order room service if you put your card out before a certain time (think it was 4am?). This is actually quite convenient as I had a morning flight and therefore didn’t have to waste any time going down to breakfast. I could finish getting ready and packing my things while waiting for room service to arrive. It arrived on the time I specified and I ordered Teh Tarik and Roti Canai- a traditional Malay breakfast that happens to be my favourite!
There are also four different restaurants & cafés within the hotel should you need to eat at any time of day.
If you have an early morning flight or a long layover then I can definitely recommend staying at the Sama Sama hotel for its convenient location next to Kuala Lumpur International airport. If you’re flying from the LCCT airport the only option there is the Tune hotel, so if you want something a bit nicer then I also recommend staying here and taking the bus.
My stay at the Sama Sama hotel was complimentary. Opinions as always, are my own.
I wouldn’t normally go for a hotel over a hostel, but its location near the airport could swing it for me. It looks like a lovely place 🙂
