Review: Antler Juno Suitcase

I’m kind of obsessed with luggage. As a frequent traveller I tend to covet new suitcases and you’ll often find me looking at luggage stores the way most women would look at shoe stores.

I have lots of different cabin bags, backpacks and suitcases in all different sizes- some with wheels, some without- because different kinds of trips require different kinds of luggage.

Antler Juno Case

Antler are one of my favourite luggage brands and over the years I have purchased all sorts of bags from them, since their headquarters and factory shop happen to be located in my home town of Bury. When they asked me to review their Antler Juno suitcase, I was happy to test it out as I know their suitcases are always of high quality.

The Juno suitcase is quite a sexy piece of luggage, I was pretty impressed. Take a look at this bad boy.

Available in various different colours, the Juno Medium suitcase definitely has the X factor when it comes to appearances. Those beautiful ridges and curves make it look nice and stylish for even the most glamorous of jetsetters. I really like the white colour and it will definitely stand out at baggage reclaim…you don’t see many white cases on the conveyor belt! It’s easy to spot and you don’t have to worry so much about someone else walking off with your bag.

It’s a hard shell case and to be quite honest I have usually been against these kinds of suitcases because of the weight issue, but you’ll be please to know this one feels nice and light, weighing 3.3 kg or 7.3 lbs. The polypropylene shell is tough and durable too, ensuring the suitcase is super strong.

The Antler Juno has four sturdy 360 degree rotating wheels to give you complete manoeuvrability. Just a note: with these kinds of suitcases you are meant to push them along upright, instead of dragging them behind you.

But let’s get down to the important details shall we- like how many dresses and pairs of shoes can it hold?! This is the medium case, which has a 70 litre capacity, measuring 68 x 46 x 26 cm. I would say it’s perfect for shorter one-week trips, but you’re going away for longer or you simply don’t travel light, you might want to purchase the large version.

What I love about this suitcase is that it splits into two halves, meaning it’s easy to get at your stuff. You can zip some of your belongings behind the mesh cover, and secure the rest of your stuff on the other side with the clip fastener. There’s also a little long side-pocket for extra bits and bobs.

Of course being an Antler product, it’s well-made and they certainly pay attention to detail. The case has an in-built TSA combination lock, which means it’s a breeze if you’re travelling in the USA and you don’t have to buy a separate padlock for your bag. The zippers are also very sturdy and the handle slides in and out very easily. The emphasis here is on ‘Great British Design’- there’s even a label saying so- and I have to agree it’s very well designed. Just in case though, it comes with a 10 year warranty, so I don’t have to worry about it packing up on me!

  1. You have to be well in to travelling to develop an obsession with luggage. My sister is the same, she has all types of different luggage equipment, suit cases, and all kind of travelling kits. I going to email the link to this page on to her! 🙂

  2. Thanks for the review. I am in the market for some lightweight luggage. Until now I have been looking at the Samsonite Cosmolite, however they are very expensive relative to the Antler Juno. Admittedly the Samsonite is lighter than the Juno, but not by a lot. What are your thoughts? Is the Samsonite worth the extra?

  3. I have just bought this Suitcase and it looks just as amazing as this blog states. There is plenty of room to fit my whole life into as I am also moving abroad to live on an adventure. I got my suitcase online for the best deal I could find. http://www.gatwickluggage.co.uk/
The owner was very friendly and helped me with all of my questions, and even sent the item for free! You don’t get that kind of service first hand.

We are thinking of purchasing two of these cases as the airline allows 30k and only one bag each.
We have had a couple of incidences where our bags have been thrown by the airline after we have checked in.
Will this case be strong enough for this? Its disappointing as we payed for nice Antler bags a few years ago but only used twice. Its frame was broken by airline and security ripped open the lining too i suspect for signs of tampering. That’s fine but it costs me not them. Way out of pocket with a $80 payment from travel insurance.
