A Quick Intro to Monaco

A popular day trip from Nice is a visit to the tiny principality of Monaco, which is a sovereign city-state measuring just 2.1 km2 (0.81 sq mi).

Famous for its Formula 1 Grand Prix, billionaire yachts, glamorous royal family and opulent casino, Monaco is one of the world’s ritziest destinations.

Start your day by checking out the exotic cars at Place du Casino and grabbing a coffee at Cafe de Paris. After you’re done, step inside the iconic Monte Carlo Casino to see some of the interior rooms.

Check out the famous Fairmont Hairpin Bend then head on over to the Prince’s Palace of Monaco, which is perched on top of a hill and has spectacular views of all of Monaco.

Take a tour inside the decadent state apartments, then explore the charming old town, which boasts narrow streets, colorful buildings and casual restaurants where you can enjoy an affordable lunch.

Cap off your day by heading down to Port Hercule to catch Happy Hour at Brasserie du Monaco. With house-brewed beers and drinks deals from 6pm till 8pm, it’s one of the best places to drink if you’re visiting Monaco on a budget.
