Visas are an essential item for gaining access to a country for a specific amount of time. Without them, you may be denied access to the country and deported back to your country of origin. Understanding which visa is the right one for your situation can be tricky, however, so we’ve prepared a handy guide to make it that little bit easier for you.
What are the different types of visas?
With many visas to choose from, we’ve put together a list of some of the most popular options, so you can see the difference between them all.
Tourist Visa’s
This type of visa is designed to allow foreign people to enter a country for a set amount of days for leisure. Using this allows you to travel in and around the country to explore the many tourist attractions available.
Transit Visa
Transit visas are designed to let someone enter a country temporarily to either change flights or get on another form of transport that will take them back out of the country.
Medical Visa
A medical visa allows a foreign national to enter a country with the sole purpose of receiving specialist medical treatment. There are many countries around the world that are renowned for having the best medical care, which people want to take advantage of.
Student Visa
If you want to study outside of the U.S. then a student visa will be needed to enter the country where you’ll be studying. According to a recent survey, around 72% of U.S. university students want to join a study abroad program, which shows just how popular this visa can be.
Work Visa
If you’ve secured employment overseas, then a work visa will be needed to enter the country. These tend to be valid for a much lengthier amount of time than a tourist visa and a common example of this type of visa includes the MCV Visa Australia, which allows you to work as part of a crew for up to three years. You can get this type of work visa from AUVisa.org.
Investments Visa
Investment visas allow you to invest money in businesses in a specific country and in return, you can live, study and engage in business activities for a specific amount of time. These visas do have a minimum investment amount to qualify, so it’s important to select a country that fits your budget.
As you can see, there are plenty of visas to choose from and there are far more than the ones we’ve mentioned above. Visas can be tricky to navigate, so be sure to do plenty of research to make sure you select the right one to gain legal access to a country.
