Switzerland Travel Guide
A Quick Intro to Switzerland
Famous for its cuckoo clocks, watches and love of punctuality, Switzerland is a beautiful country you should definitely make time for.
This landlocked country is mostly occupied by the beautiful Alps and is therefore known for being one of the best destinations in the world for skiing and winter sports. Once the snow melts and the summer sunshine arrives, the Alpine landscape is perfect for outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and ziplining.
Despite being sandwiched between five countries, Switzerland has held a neutral foreign policy stance for hundreds of years and isn’t part of the EU. The country is known for its finance industry and has long been a tax haven for companies and wealthy individuals. Salaries and costs of living are high in Switzerland, so bear this in mind when budgeting for your trip.
With pretty lakes, charming mountain villages and soaring mountains, Switzerland has so much going for it. Cities you may want to consider for your trip include Geneva (the capital), Zurich (my personal favorite), Bern and Lucerne.
While you’re there, don’t forget to try plenty off fondue, chocolates, raclette and Birchermüesli!
