Colombia Travel Guide

A Quick Intro to Colombia

With its amazing food and cheap cost of living, Colombia is quickly becoming one of the most popular destinations for digital nomads.

While the country has a bit of a questionable past and has struggled with cartels/violence for decades, things are slowly improving.

Known for its arts, gastronomy and culture, the capital city of Bogota is the most visited city in Colombia. It boasts tons of world-class restaurants, dozens of museums, plenty of nightlife, and a charming historic downtown called La Candelaria.

Another city that’s popular with tourists and digital nomads is Medellin, which is nicknamed “The City of Eternal Spring” due to its climate. The city is located in a bowl in the Andes mountains and has cable cars that connect the city with various barrios. Just a couple of hour’s drive from the city are some beautiful, colorful pueblos and coffee farms that can be explored on a day trip.

The prettiest city in Colombia has to be Cartagena, which is situated on the Caribbean Coast. The walled old town is painted in an array of colors and has plenty of great bars and restaurants. Off the coastline there are tons of beautiful islands just waiting to be discovered, including the Rosario Islands, Isla Grande and Tierra Bomba.
