A Quick Intro to Canada

Measuring a total of 9.98 million square kilometres, Canada is the second largest country in the world and yet much of it remains untouched. Most of the population is concentrated around the cities of Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.

With lots of forests, lakes, mountains and rivers, the country has tons of opportunities for amazing wilderness adventures. If you like skiing and snowboarding, head to winter resorts such as Whistler, Lake Louise or Mont Tremblant. If you like hiking and biking, consider the trails of Banff National Park.

Attend the Calgary Stampede, gaze at the awe-inspiring Niagara Falls, catch sight of polar bears in Manitoba or get up close with the bison at Elk Island National Park…there are tons of exciting things to do all over Canada.

While the capital city of Canada is actually Ottawa, the city of Toronto is considered Canada’s cultural capital. It’s a very ethnically diverse city with tons of things to see and do. I’d advise spending at least two or three days there so you can explore house and gardens of Casa Loma, visit the observation deck of the CN Tower, drink beers in the historic Distillery District and go shopping at Kensington Market.
