Top 5 Places to Visit in Canada

Canada is one of the top tourist destinations in the world and if you are thinking of planning a trip here, you should get a good idea of which places you want to plan your visit around. There are some obvious ones but also some less famous places that you won’t want to miss. We’ve rounded up some of the best bits of Canada to help you to plan an unforgettable trip:

Niagara Falls

This was the more obvious one we were talking about. Niagara Falls attracts around 30 million tourists every year, as people across the world flock to see the world’s most famous waterfalls. Whilst seeing the waterfalls up close is an unbelievable experience itself, there are plenty of other activities to try such as the Journey Behind the Falls and the Whirlpool Jetboat is another incredible experience.

Vancouver

The city of Vancouver is filled with magnificent places and adventures. The Capilano Suspension Bridge is a treetop bridge you can cross to enjoy spectacular views (for those who don’t have a fear of heights!) Stanley Park is another fantastic place within Vancouver, with beaches, trails, a waterpark and watersports as well as stunning scenery to hike through. Granville Island is another place to put on your list, famous for art and culture, markets, history and architectural and there are some great shops and restaurants here too.

CN Tower

You might have seen this one in the movies – the CN Tower stands at over 500 metres tall and features a revolving restaurant with a glass floor. The stunning panoramic views make it a popular choice for romantics popping the question, or meals for special occasions.

Jasper National Park

Situated in the Canadian Rockies, Jasper National Park is the perfect destination for travellers with an adventurous streak. Skiing is popular here and there are campsites to stay on to get even closer to nature, which could include moose, deer, bighorn sheep, bears, coyotes and more. If you like hiking trails then you will be in your element, as there are plenty of enthralling hikes to take on with breathtaking views of the mountains.

Algonquin Park

The national parks in Canada are truly unbeatable and there are just so many to choose from. Algonquin Park in Ontario is a firm favourite with tourists, with people heading here to explore the scenic landscape including rivers, forests and lakes. It is also filled with exciting trails to venture along, such as the Barron Canyon Trail from the north rim. Canoeing around the lakes and rivers is a great way to see the best bits of this amazing area. Cyclists love this park as there is an old railway trail that is now used for biking through the best parts of Algonquin, along a flat track that can be enjoyed by families. There are also a number of ski trails that the skiers can enjoy whilst staying here.

Did you know that to visit these places you will need to apply for Canada visa? If you visit Canada from UK, you will need an eTA Canada for authorisation to enter the country. If you would like to find out more about eTA Canada visit https://www.e-eta.org/.

Hi I'm Victoria, a British girl from Manchester. After graduating from university I decided there was more to life than the hours between 9 and 5, so I packed my journalism degree into my suitcase to travel the world and find a way to make money at the same time. I now call London home, although I still travel whenever I can. I hope to inspire you to be your own boss, live life and see the world.
