The most popular city breaks in 2019

In need of a city break? Take a look at this quick list, looking briefly at some of the most popular areas to visit in 2019.

Known for the likes of its world class football teams, the Royal Palace, and the Prado museum, Madrid is one of the first cities that comes to mind for many when thinking about a holiday. On a hot day, a walk through the famous Retiro park will be a relaxing change of pace from the crowded city streets. There’s even a serene lake located in the centre, the perfect location to sit by and enjoy some food and drink.

Did you know? Madrid is known for being a city located centrally, in the heart of Spain, but it is actually also the highest capital city in the entirety of Europe. The city is situated atop a plateau that reaches 650 miles above sea level. This isn’t a beach holiday, that’s for sure.

With a population of around 8.8 million people, 13% of the entire UK population, London is without a doubt one of the most influential areas in the world, and a city in which you can always find something to do. No matter the time of year, there is always something going on in the great city,

Hallmark locations that you must visit in London include the Palace of Westminster and the London Eye, which will give you an unforgettable birds-eye view of the city. If only visiting for a short period, take a trip on one of the many open top bus tours, which will drop you off conveniently at points of interest you desire.

Did you know? London has and will continue to stay popular among tourists and visitors for the foreseeable future, although the amount of people wanting to live and work there is waning by the day. Living costs are rising and there is often better job opportunity further north, which is why property investment companies such as RW Invest are preparing and assisting buyers in growing cities such as Liverpool and Manchester.

This great French city has plenty of sights to see, and for the UK visitor it’s easy enough to travel to if you fancy a weekend away. For the perfect autumn visit, take a stroll down the Champs-Elysees street, popping in and out of the numerous bars, cafés and shops that line the road, before finishing off at the Arc de Triumph for a great photo opportunity.

Families staying in Paris might also be drawn to the nearby Disneyland park, which is one of many across the globe. This theme park phenomenon can be a magical experience for children of an evening, as the castle is lit up and an amazing firework display ensues.

Did you know? There are three different replicas of New York’s Statue of Liberty in Paris. The most notable imitation sits on a small island on the river Seine, and can be observed by the nearby bridges or by boat. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and Paris is ever the romantic place!

Hi I'm Victoria, a British girl from Manchester. After graduating from university I decided there was more to life than the hours between 9 and 5, so I packed my journalism degree into my suitcase to travel the world and find a way to make money at the same time. I now call London home, although I still travel whenever I can. I hope to inspire you to be your own boss, live life and see the world.
