No Luggage Limits P&O Ferries

If there were no luggage limits, this is what I’d take…

I love flying, but there’s one thing that really annoys me about it: luggage limits.

I remember as a child my Mum would take me on holiday once a year and we’d always have the same fiasco the night before. She would want to take pretty much everything but the kitchen sink, so we’d have to pack the suitcase, weigh it, take things out, weigh it again…

We’d get to the airport, only to find it was still overweight and she had to pay excess baggage. I’ve since learned to travel lighter, but it still really annoys me that I can’t just take everything I want on a plane. Most budget airlines charge an arm and a leg for a checked bag, so I often take just hand luggage, but then there’s the problem of only being able to take liquids under 100ml. Instead of taking my ordinary bottles of shampoo, I have to buy minis, which are never value for money.

That’s why it’s always nice when I travel by ferry or cruise ship or train, because I know I can take whatever I want. This summer P&O Ferries invited me to share what I’d take if I had no luggage limits. Because that’s the cool thing about taking the ferry: there are no annoying luggage limits.

Here is a picture of everything I’d take in my ultimate holiday suitcase:

No Luggage Limits

Tea – I’m a tea addict so I’d take a box of herbal teas

Hairdryer – I always leave it behind because it’s just too heavy.

Sonos Speaker – too bulky to pack in a suitcase, but would love to be able to listen to music!

Yoga mat – so I can exercise wherever I go

Toblerone – because my guilty pleasure is chocolate

Slippers – never an essential, but I’d love to be comfy like I am at home

Face masks – I love paper face masks because they make my skin so relaxed.

Face creams – I love to keep my face very smooth so that´s why I always have to take my creams with me – small tubs that aren´t very heavy.

Eyelash/Eyebrow dye – got to keep those brows in shape and get a little help in the eyes with a list of eye creams!

Perfume – I usually take a little mini perfume, but it would be nice to take the whole bottle

Puffy jacket – On winter trips I always want to take my quilted jacket but there’s just no space

CAT Boots – I love my CAT boots on winter trips because they’re so comfy. But since they take up room, I usually go without

All my makeup – I usually have to take only the essentials make-up wise, but it would be nice to take all my different lipsticks and eye colours!

Elemis cleansing balm – I have a big tub of this and I love it for removing make-up.

Hot chocolate – I can’t have coffee, so I like to have a hot chocolate every morning

A dog – OK, OK I don’t have a dog. But I really want one soon and it would be awesome to be able to travel with it. With P&O Ferries you can take a dog if it has a pet passport, as long as it meets EU requirements. It must stay in the vehicle during your trip, but at just £15 each way on the Dover to Calais route, it’s far cheaper than flying!

Now it’s over to you. What would you take if you had no luggage limits?

Victoria Brewood

Hi I'm Victoria, a British girl from Manchester. After graduating from university I decided there was more to life than the hours between 9 and 5, so I packed my journalism degree into my suitcase to travel the world and find a way to make money at the same time. I now call London home, although I still travel whenever I can. I hope to inspire you to be your own boss, live life and see the world.

I like to pack most of my wardrobe, although once I’m away I recycle the same 2 – 3 outfits each week.
