Obtaining your Turkey eVisa
If you are a citizen from one of the 90 eligible countries, you can apply online for your visa. The list includes most countries in the west and Africa. However, different countries have been granted different levels of access to Turkey. Normally the differences are:
- Single or double entry visas
- Length of stay is either 30 or 90 days

Applications for the eVisa are done online. You simply enter a few personal details, pay a fee, and upload supporting documentation. This is your passport. To obtain a visa you need a passport with 150 days validity from the date of travel.
The information you need to provide in the application is:

- Passport number, issue, and expiry date
- Email address
- Mobile/Cell number
Your Turkey eVisa will be sent to your email address once approved. It normally takes two business days to approve but it is good practice to allow plenty of time for approval. You do not want to be caught out should delays ensue.
Turkey accepts a debit or credit card to pay for the fee.
There should not be any issues with your visa once you arrive in Turkey. Officials should be able to verify your visa from your passport number. Nonetheless, it is good practice to have your eVisa presentable either from an electronic device such as your phone, or a printed paper copy just to be safe.
If you fall outside of the 90 countries that can apply for an eVisa you will have to apply via the consulate or embassy. This will involve you traveling to the consulate or embassy to pick up your visa before travel. Again, check requirements before you apply so you know how many visas you need and what you are entitled to do.
