A Quick Intro to Croatia

Sitting on the Adriatic Sea at the crossroads of central and southeastern Europe, Croatia boasts a truly stunning stretch of coastline and thousands of islands.

While the beaches are mainly pebbly, the water is exceptionally clear and sparkles like diamonds in the sun.

Most people flock to the cities of Split and Dubrovnik on the Dalmatian coast, which are known for their charming old towns and terracotta rooftops. The island of Hvar is also a popular choice, with its beautiful secluded beaches and vibrant nightlife scene.

Croatia is famous for its Yacht Week, when hundreds of yachts loaded with partygoers spend a week sailing around the Croatian islands. If you love techno music, the country aso plays host to several awesome EDM festivals, including Sonus, Ultra, Outlook, Dimensions and Hideout.

For me the ultimate highlight of Croatia was visiting the Plitvice Lakes -a chain of terraced lakes with wooden walkways, pretty waterfalls and emerald green waters. I also really enjoyed exploring the Istria region of Croatia, which is closer to the Slovenian border. Istrian towns such as Pula and Rovinj are definitely worthy of your time.
