A summer in Miami is a dream, for many. But it is something that can become a reality, maybe this summer! With Pommie Travels, you will see how to make your next vacation as amazing as possible. In addition, here you can find everything you need to know when planning a trip. Below is a list of the best beaches in Miami for you to choose from, depending on your needs and preferences, of course.

Lummus Park Beach

Lummus Park Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Miami. In fact, you must have seen it before. Every time Miami appears on TV, this beach comes up.

Although access to this beach is easier than to any other (due to its location), you must know that it is a very popular destination and if you are thinking of relaxing, it may not be the best option. However, this does not mean that it is not worth a visit. It will depend on what you are looking for. This beach is very close to Miami International Airport. So if you land at this airport, you will have an idea of where you have to go to get to it.

South Pointe Park Pier

If you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the city of Miami, this beach is a good option. Just make sure you have your camera loaded! Here you can take superb pictures of Fisher Island and Biscayne Bay, which are perfect on a clear day. This white sand beach is wonderful. Tip: if you are planning a picnic at this beach, place yourself in one of the many grassy knolls to enjoy your meal without sand!

Haulover Beach

One of the most picturesque beaches in Miami. Haulover Beach features landscaped dunes and dozens of lifeguard towers. This beach is the only legal and officially recognized nude beach in Miami, so if you are not so open-minded or if you are planning to travel with children, you better know this to avoid surprises. Obviously, there is nothing wrong with it, but it is better to warn before being caught! Surfers, too, love this beach. There are days when the waves are perfect for this sport.

This is one of the most crowded beaches, so you better take your precautions and leave early to find the perfect spot! If you go by car, parking is not a big deal: there is plenty of space! It is not free, but you pay little.

What’s more, if you visit this beach on a Tuesday, don’t worry about lunch! On that day, you will find a food truck festival with local vendors and live music performances. A real pleasure!

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park

Bill Baggs is a fantastic place for swimming and surfing! But if water activities are not your thing, it doesn’t matter! This destination is also ideal for you. Why? The famous Cape Florida lighthouse is on this beach. Yes, you will have the option to take a guided tour of this lighthouse. Climb to the top of it.

There are different ways to reach this beach. Taxis are the quickest and take just 15 min from Downtown Miami.

Matheson Hammock Park Beach

Matheson Hammock Park has a very kid-friendly beach. This beach is ideal for everyone, but especially for children. Why? It has an artificial pool with shallow waters and no strong currents. In other words, it is paradise. Here, there is no risk. Forget about possible encounters with sharks living in the Atlantic Ocean! Enjoy its warm and safe waters. Note: you cannot use any flotation devices on this beach.
