Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll probably have seen lots of media coverage of Prince Harry in Vegas, where he was spotted getting wet and wild at MGM Grand’s Wet Republic. Only 2 month’s earlier I went to that very same pool party- I’m just frustrated I missed him!
Just to recap: Prince Harry was seen at various pool parties in Vegas on a wild holiday that resulted in him wearing a bachelorette’s T-shirt, challenging Ryan Lochte to a race and showing off the crown jewels in his hotel room at Steve Wynn’s Encore hotel.
To be honest, when reading the coverage of Prince Harry’s antics in Vegas, I thought, “Welcome to the world of Las Vegas pool parties!” Forget lazing on a sun lounger with a good book…that ain’t happening in Vegas baby!
Las Vegas during the day is all about the adult pool parties, dancing to pumping music, drinking cocktails in souvenir cups and splashing around in the water. My usual pool attire is a bikini and a pair of flip flops, but in Vegas the girls tend to dress up big time for the pool, with high heels, jewellery and lots of make-up!
Wet Republic at MGM Grand is without a doubt one of the best pool parties in Vegas. I stayed at the MGM Grand for two nights back in July, so I went to Wet Republic on a Saturday when Bob Sinclair was DJ-ing.
The Wet Republic pool party was one of my best memories of Vegas! The Ultra Pool was literally full of people. Never in my life have I seen that many people in one pool. Check out the video below and you’ll see what I mean.
I made the mistake of taking a handbag with me, so I had to ask a complete stranger if I could store my bag in their cabana, but once I’d ditched it, I jumped straight in that pool! Drinks + sunshine + thumping beats…what a great day.
