Colourful buildings, medieval architecture, peaceful canals, Belgian beers and chocolate shops galore…must be in Bruges!
As I walked along the quaint cobbled streets of Bruges, the clippety-clop of horses hooves drawing closer, I thought “How have I been to Belgium 3 times before and I’ve never been to Bruges?”
Prior to this trip I had only ever been to Antwerp and Dinant.
However, this time round I was to discover Lokeren, Bruges and Ghent. After rocking out to Selah Sue and Orbital at Lokerse Feesten in Lokeren for #fiaf12, I took the train to Bruges to stay for one night at Martin’s Relais Oud Huis.
Walking around the city, I felt like I was in a movie set. To put it quite simply, Bruges is stunning. It’s a beautiful city and unbelievably quaint. Yes it may be overrun with tourists during the summer time, but that doesn’t detract from its beauty.
There are some places in the world that are so damn pretty it cannot be put into words. So here are 23 photos to prove just how beautiful Bruges actually is!

This is a lovely photo essay – the large photos really come to life on the screen. My favourite shot is of the dog in the window – that’s just soooo cute!
These photos are beautiful. Makes me want to go to Bruges even more.
