A bit of a personal update, I’ve entered the Samsung Global Blogger competition to blog at the London 2012 Olympics and made it as one of the finalists!
My first challenge was to create a 30-second video introducing myself and explaining why I should be the Samsung Global Blogger. I donned a Union Jack T-shirt and leggings covered with Union Jacks, then made a t*t out of myself on camera for your amusement!
The second challenge was to create another 30-second video covering an event in my hometown! The email accidentally went to my spam folder so I didn’t see it until after the Manchester City victory parade (first time the football team has one the Championship since 1968), but I found something just as entertaining for you to watch…an Olympic/Jubilee themed dog show!
I was cutting it a bit fine time-wise, since I returned from the Florida blog trip on Thursday and the closing date was Sunday. That gave me just 3-days to find and film a compelling event in my hometown!
I don’t know about you but I’m a sucker for dogs in fancy dress and when I saw that Turton Towers in Lancashire was hosting their annual dog show, I couldn’t resist!
It was a beautiful sunny English day and it was nice to see everyone getting into the spirit for the Queen’s Jubilee and the Olympic Games.
The winner of Best Fancy Dress was “Ugly Betty”, who came as a doggy paddle Olympic hopeful!
