I recently received a Karrimor Transit Wheel Case and I love any excuse to try out new travel luggage. The Transit Wheel Case has a 40 litre capacity and is just the right size for cabin baggage. If you want something you can take on-board the aircraft, but that’s big enough for a weekend away, then this bag is just right.
It’s soft a soft bag so it’s not too heavy, and there’s plenty of give in it. Whilst I haven’t had chance to test it much yet, the fabric seems sturdy and generally the bag seems well made- which I would expect from a Karrimor bag.
There is an outside zip pocket, which you could use to store things like a passport, phone, iPod and travel documents. I always like having an outside pocket so I don’t have to rummage around inside the bag.
The inside of the Karrimor Transit Wheel Case has one main compartment with straps to secure your belongings, which is useful to stop them floating around.
There is also a zip pocket inside the lid, which I would use to store things like underwear and socks.
This is a trolley bag, so you can wheel it around and you don’t have to carry it. A problem I find with many trolley bags is that the handle tends to stick and is difficult to pull out. With the Karrimor bag, I found that the handle was really sturdy and it worked really smoothly when pulling it out and pushing it back down again.
Whilst the Karrimor Transit Wheel Case is primarily a trolley bag with wheels, it does have a dual function. There are straps attached to the back so you can carry it just like a backpack. These have clips so you can detach them and then tuck the straps into the outer lining. The wheels are pretty solid, and there’s also a carry handle on the side, so you can carry it many different ways.
This luggage would be perfect for taking on short-haul flights or weekends away. With budget airlines that charge extortionate prices for checked-in luggage, I usually take just a carry-on bag if I’m only going away for a short period of time. This is perfect for that, so I’m pretty happy with it.
