I snapped this photo in Padangbai, Bali, at the Bloo Lagoon eco-tourism resort. This was a view from their luxury eco-villas overlooking the ocean. Padangbai is a small fishing village on the east of the island, where most tourists go to catch the ferry over to the neighbouring island of Lombok. I found it to be the most relaxing place I visited in Bali and a far cry from the hustle and bustle of Kuta. If you want to chill out and get away from it all, this is the place to do it.
This tiny village has a quiet laid-back vibe with a few budget homestays and the odd beach-shack style bar. There are three beaches in Padangbai, including Blue Lagoon beach and a white sand beach over the hill. The beaches have very white sand and are great for snorkelling. My friend even said she saw ocean phosphorescence at night.
spent 3 wonderful days at the Bloo Lagoon, one of the most relaxing parts of my 3 week stay in Bali. Sweet to see the photo.
