This week the town is in mourning.
A few days ago Lagos said goodbye to two people who made more of an impact in a few weeks than some people do in a whole season. The two best friends and flyers for 3 Monkeys Bar, Hubba and Lucas, sure made an impression. Despite our efforts to put rohypnol in their drinks and chain them to the bar, the monkeys escaped the circus and went to Turkey!
The town will go on, people will still be carried out of the bar after too many beer bongs, but 3 monkeys is missing one bearded and one incedibly tall man to get the party started.
There are still traces of them left- a helicopter balloon still floats on the ceiling and a number plate from their road trip around America is safely nailed to the bar. Somewhere across the waters in Turkey we can still hear the sounds of “Into the Monkey!” shouted in a Northern English accent, despite Hubba being from Melbourne. People still dance on the bar doing their signature dance move that will give you back problems.
The next flyer has tough shoes to fill.
