The story of my backpack

My backpack

Most people seem to write gear reviews of their all-singing-all-dancing backpacks with multiple compartments, lockable zips and super duper fabrics. Well this is my backpack, a faded Quicksilver backpack in some weird green and grey retro 80s pattern thats developing a few holes here and there because I insist on putting objects in there that poke through.

Sometimes if I don’t organise everything right inside, it digs into my back. The label tells me its made of cotton and polyester and it has no compartments except the one you see on the front there. The flaps tend to come open and everything falls out because those little black button things have come loose.

Despite it being ready to sit in a dustbin somewhere, I insist on lugging it around the world because..well…im rather fond of it. I got this backpack when I was about 8 years old- it’s seen many days on the beach in Devon & Cornwall and its been all around Australia with me. So thank you backpack for carrying all my things for the last fourteen years.
